Our
History
As is the case at the
inauguration of many successful entrepreneurial ventures, HeiTech
Services began modestly when President/CEO Heidi Gerding launched
the firm in 1999 from an office located in the basement of her
home.
From the start, however, Ms. Gerding’s commitment to client service and drive to achieve success was far from modest. In naming her new firm “HeiTech Services,” Ms. Gerding put the customer first – and placed her own name, reputation, and personal guarantee up front and on the line.
This unique commitment to client service, and the ability to follow through with superior performance, explains why HeiTech Services has grown extensively in slightly over nine years – and will continue this pace of growth in the years to come.
A Naval Academy graduate, Heidi Gerding retained her Annapolis roots by headquartering HeiTech Services in nearby Lanham, MD. Founded in October 1999, HeiTech Services operates under a customer focused, employee driven model, offering onsite and offsite support services to federal government clients. The firm’s mission is to provide excellent customer service and promote a rewarding work environment in which both the company and its employees share common goals.
Since its founding,
HeiTech Services has grown from a two-person firm operating in
a home-based office to a $23 M business (2008 revenues) with
nearly 450 employees and approximately 15,000 square feet of office
space. Currently, the firm serves eleven federal departments and
agencies.
HeiTech Services provides solutions under the following four business areas:
HeiTech Services has established working relationships with a number of large businesses, including Booz Allen Hamilton, Computer Sciences Corporation, ICF Consulting, Mathematica Policy Research, Macro International, and Perot Systems Government Services. Further, through partnership agreements with leading academic institutions, HeiTech Services offers its clients access to knowledge leaders from the Universities of Maryland, Kentucky, and South Carolina.
One of our most recent
and successful business relationships has been forged with SI
International, Inc, a large-scale mission-critical IT solutions
service provider. HeiTech Services and SI International have formed
a team under the Department of Homeland Security's Mentor-Protégé
Program. SI International successfully demonstrates its commitment
to small businesses, specifically HeiTech Services, by providing
technical, operational and managerial mentoring.
